LAWRENCEVILLE — The Lawrence County Health Department has announced that as of Nov. 30, the county has now had 1,134 positive cases of the COVID-19 virus since the pandemic began this past March. The number includes 224 cases that are currently active and 901 who have recovered. There have been at least nine reported deaths of local residents. more

Shiloh Baptist Church, Bridgeport, recently loaded up 200 shoeboxes for its annual Christmas gift drive for children. This exceeded the church's initial goal of 150 boxes. more

BRIDGEPORT — The work to again establish a Christian school in Lawrence County is nearing its fruition. Fountain Christian Academy will be located on the campus of Fountain Fellowship in Bridgeport. Goals are set to start up classes by the Spring of 2021 or at the very latest, the Fall. more
