LAWRENCEVILLE — Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the shortage of personnel in schools across the state, the Illinois State Board of Education has issued a “Notice of Emergency Amendment to Emergency Rule” which states that if a quarantined teacher is well enough to teach remotely, his/her class could be placed with a volunteer in the classroom to monitor students while the certified classroom teacher teaches the class remotely through a remote teaching platform.
