LAWRENCEVILLE — Mary Lou Thompson, age 90 of rural Lawrenceville, died on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Gentlecare of Vincennes.
She was born June 4, 1930 to John Floyd Hayes and his wife Gladys (Melvin) Hayes. On Dec. 7, 1947, Mary married William J. “Jack” Thompson. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Mary was a homemaker to her family. For 40 plus years, Mary was a school bus driver for Unit 20. She was also a long-time member of Rising Sun Christian Church.
Surviving family includes: her daughter, Judy McCrory and husband Noble of Lawrenceville; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and her twin sister, Marian Lee Cardinal and husband Morris of Wheatland, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; one sister, Patsy Daffron; and two brothers, Jackie Eugene Hayes and John Hayes.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. (CST) on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Centerville Cemetery.
Cunningham-Young Funeral Home of Lawrenceville is in charge of arrangements.
