FAIRFIELD — Marvin “Slim” Leroy Tanner, Jr., age 61, passed away at 2:48 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021 at his home.
Slim had worked in the oil fields as a roughneck, driller and spudder operator. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on March 13, 1959 to Marvin “Leroy” and Judith Ann (Dahl) Tanner.
Slim is survived by: his father, Leroy Tanner, Fairfield; sister, Rose (Jerry) Farrar, Olney; brother, Keith Tanner, Tulsa, Oklahoma; five nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special “daughter,” Kerry Tanner Burnett Wayman, Bend, Oregon.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Judith Tanner; and step-mother, Anita Tanner.
Per Slim’s wishes, he will be cremated. A memorial service will be held in the spring with his ashes buried in Union Cemetery.
