Salukis place third in Robinson tourney
ROBINSON - Red Hill High School's softball team won two of three pool play games Saturday, then whipped Neoga 12-3 in the third-place game of the Robinson Invitational.

It was a return to form for the Salukis, (8-12), who won three of their first four games this season before entering the tournament on a seven-game losing streak.

The Salukis opened the tournament with a 9-3 win over Effingham, before suffering their only loss in the tournament, 5-3, to Carbondale. Red Hill secured a spot in the third-place game by stopping Olney, 4-2.

There was a time limit on the pool play games, and as a result the Salukis games against Olney and Effingham were shortened to six innings.
