Day at the Strip Saturday, Sunday
LAWRENCEVILLE - The 10th annual Bowler Performance Transmissions Day at the Strip is set for Saturday and Sunday at Mid-American Air Center, northeast of Lawrenceville.

This year Day at the Strip will feature a large car show, autocross, a cruise-in and 50/50 drawing during the two-day event. Due to FAA regulations prohibiting the use of a runway for the quarter-mile lane, there will be no drag racing.

The car show is set for Oct. 12. Registration will be from 9-11 a.m. with the vehicles on display until 4 p.m. Organizers said awards are scheduled to be made at about 3:30 p.m. Awards will go to the top 10 entries with special sponsor choice awards also presented.

Autocross registration and tech is from 8-9 a.m. Saturday with autocross competition from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Helmets are mandatory.

Also on Oct. 12 the Borowiak's IGA Cruise-in begins after car show awards. Check Day at the Strip Facebook page for final details on cruise destination and event information.

Then on Sunday, Oct. 13, there will be an autocross shootout with cars battling it out to win cash. The autocross shootout is open only to autocross participants from Saturday. The shootout is from 8 a.m. until noon.

Spectators are welcome and encouraged to come out to the event each day. Spectators are admitted free for the car show and only charged $1 to enter the autocross challenge area. This allows organizers to ensure everyone has signed the SCCA insurance waiver. All proceeds from the event go to the Lawrence County Cancer Research Center and Wig Bank.

There will be food vendors and door prize give-aways throughout the day.
