LCHD WIC begins offering convenience billing
LAWRENCEVILLE - The Lawrence County Health Department has announced that as of January, it has started "offering the convenience of insurance billing for immunizations obtained in the WIC Department for both adults and children with immunization group or individual private health insurance benefits."

Health department officials said, "by offering this service, the LCHD will be able to facilitate an expansion of community health services and provide a value-added convenience to the citizens of our community.  The responsibility for billing group or individual private health insurance will shift from the patient to the LCHD as the LCHD strives to enhance customer service."

The WIC Department is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. with extended hours on Thursday until 6 p.m.

Immunization fees vary and will be collected unless Medicaid and/or insurance cards are presented at the time of the immunization.  Patients will be responsible for any balance remaining after insurance is processed.  The WIC Department is currently not able to bill Medicare, health department officials said.

For more information, to check immunization availability, or to make an appointment, call 943-3302.
