Search is on for photos of more than 500 Illinois servicemen
LAWRENCEVILLE - While consideration of a "wall" at America's border is being discussed among those who serve the country in a political position, a wall that was built by the sacrifices of those military servicemen and women who had served in the Vietnam War has been built and is still growing. The national memorial wall was established in Arlington, Virginia by the VVMF (the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund), a nonprofit organization authorized by the U.S. Congress in 1980 to build a national memorial dedicated to all who served with the U.S. armed forces in the Vietnam War. The result has become one of the most visited memorials in Washington, D.C., with an estimated 5.6 million annual visitors.
