Kiddie Tractor Pull
Monday night, the Lawrence County Junior and 4-H Fair included kiddie tractor pulls in the main building and truck pulls in the grandstand arena. Solor cars coming to GRCNHP during 1,975 mile rally
VINCENNES - George Rogers Clark National Historical Park is hosting a stop on the American Solar Challenge on July 31.

University teams from around the world have designed and built solar-powered cars. Those who qualify will drive them 1,975 miles on the open road during an eight-day rally, stopping at nine different National Park Service sites in seven states, including George Rogers Clark NHP.

Parkside Elementary releases registration, back to school info
LAWRENCEVILLE - Registration for Unit 20 school is 4-7 p.m. Thursday and 8-11 a.m. Friday.

Parkside Elementary School officials have noted some special events and registration details.

Books fees are $31 for kindergarten students and $41 for students in first through fifth grades. In addition, there will be a technology fee of $20 for all students - kindergarten through fifth grade.

Two "Meet Your Teacher" night sessions are scheduled: pre-k through second grade is 5-6 p.m., Aug. 15., and third through fifth grade is 5-6 p.m. on Aug. 16.

The first day of school is Aug. 17.

Businesses rally around gridders
LAWRENCEVILLE - Lawrence County businesses have jumped on board in support of the local high school football teams and a joint golf outing set for Aug. 13.

Red Hill High School coach Billy Gray and Lawrenceville High School coach Greg Wood have announced plans for the Lawrence County Oilfield Football Golf Scramble at Lawrence County Country Club.
